Music Of An Organic Nature
for organ or accordion (2009)
duration 9 minutes
premiere 23rd October 2009 by Hans Fagius in Orgelsalen at The Royal Danish Academy of Music, Copenhagen
Score available from Donemus
program
Music of an Organic Nature is a piece that wanders through several independent sections, seeking to weave them together into an overarching structure of one long crescendo and acceleration, Taking inspiration from the medieval to minimalism, these sections vary from the heavy passacaglia-like opening to the soaring repetitions to come, Only as the piece finally subsides does a shadow of the opening passages come back into view under the collapsing figurations of the climax.
