Ekkodalen (Echo Valley) draws inspiration from Denmark’s longest rift valley on the island of Bornholm, known for its natural echoes. Written for eight celli, the work explores spatial echo and delay effects, with musical ideas passed across the ensemble like reflections in a landscape. Two contrasting themes emerge and intertwine, building toward a broad, resonant climax before dissolving into a shimmering, echoing coda that fades into the distance.
